Hello, I am the woman who was TroutDude's life partner for the past few years. I want to let the people here who knew him know that TroutDude died last month at home after a long illness. His sons and I were at home with him, and he drew his last breath quietly and peacefully in his sleep.
He spoke of once having had a very vivid dream of fishing in the most beautiful place along a clear stream, and ever after, he believed that he would see that place again in the next life. He loved nature and all of its features and creatures and felt a kinship with all creation, and so we like to think that his spirit made its way to the place alongside that stream where he'd found such peace and beauty in his dream.
TroutDude thought of the Great Blue Heron as his totem or spirit animal because one always seemed to appear at significant times throughout his life. Should the heron cross your path, give it a wave. It might be an old friend saying hello.
Sorry to hear this. I missed this post. I am convinced Troutdude will be at that dream stream. He is a wonderful person. So sorry for your loss, life partner but my encounter convinces me he is definitely in a better place. God Bless.
Sorry to hear this and may my condolences be with you. I saw he achieved Eternal Member status when I was reviewing my friends list just now. While we had many differences of opinion on many topics, I always respected his input on this forum. He will be very missed.
RIP Trout Dude. I'm sorry I wasn't active when you were. I went back and looked at your posts, and yes definitely you were a great contributor. Reel us in to your area when our time comes.

After reading your post I was reminded of a thread that TD started years ago.
Even though I'm an atheist, the way he wrote the beautiful opening post resonated with me.
Thank you for posting those links, Cruithne. Those are great threads and posts. I've been reading through them as I have time. Takes a while to digest some of what is written because it sparks deep through.
I am so very, very sorry. I have always enjoyed his wit, humor and heart. He was a lovely soul. As geekigurl said, I am a better person for having known him. May your love for each other bring you comfort and peace as you walk this path.
