I'm from Chamblee. Are you looking for something like Dunwoody? Suburban but still close to the city to do stuff? If so, I would look at Winter Park, Baldwin park, Ivanhoe and SoDo.

Since moving, The prices have risen a great deal., Celebration for a SFH starts at 750k, There are 3 homes in Windermere under $550k, $735k is the cheapest home in Baldwin Park. $439k is the starting price for a 1988 home in Hunters Creek.

One of the more affordable areas is Avalon and the others next to it.... Waterford, Eastwood, Northwood and Stoneybrook. Nona has 1 home at $550k and goes up from there.

Lake Mary starts are $385, The newer areas of Winter Garden start at 475k. Colonialtown is about $400k starting . These prices are as of 2/21/2024.

While there are many nice areas, many have moved beyond reach for a lot of people.

For those that haven't owned a home in 3 years or more have many grants available which can provide up to $50k in assistance which can certainly help.

Hope that helps.
