Wawa has more than 30 Eastern North Carolina sites going through local approval processes. By 2035, Wawa plans to build at least 80 stores in North Carolina.
I suspect so far these new locations will be in the coastal regions and along the I-95 corridor. Any word yet on the Triangle area or will they make it to Charlotte? Charlotte already has QT, Circle K, 7-11, and Sheetz expanding in the region from Statesville to Hickory, as they are on their way to Hendersonville and Asheville.

I'm not aware of any stores yet planned for the Triangle. Wilson is the closest. But I suspect they will expand to the Triangle next, possibly then the Triad because they are geographically proximate to Wawa’s preexisting Mid-Atlantic stores.
I heard that 7-11 was expanding in the Triangle area, but having trouble finding any news on that. The small city of 22,000 people I grew up in, in northern Virginia had seven 7-11 locations within the city limits. I spent hours there as a 12-14 y/o playing video games in that store.

The new 7-Eleven in Wilson is one of the nicest convenience stores I have been in. It’s impressive! Kernersville has a nice one too.

Some of the new 7-11s are very nice and have a full hot foods selection. And some of these new stores have Raise the Roost fried chicken in store, but I have not tried it yet. I know Royal Farms has very good fried chicken, and they are preparing to enter the coastal regions of NC.

Hmm. I never saw video games in a 7-11 when I was in Maryland. It may be local laws. There is nothing special about 7-11, unless you live in an apartment and do not have a car. Sheetz is a much nicer store chain.

The one I frequented most in Fairfax City had Ninja Gaiden II. My friend and I were addicted! They no longer have arcades in there. This would have been around 1990.
