I Love both.I live on the side of a beautiful, forested mountain with year around creek & artesian spring. There are Wild Lilacs beginning to bloom.
I'm about 50 mile from the ocean taking backroads. I'm close to two great rivers. Sometimes i go surf fishing in the ocean, mostly ocean perch & Striped Bass. (i release the bass). The fishing is good in the rivers, & there are many beautiful freshwater ponds/lakes/res, close by. Life is Good.

I love both, but as I've gotten older my preference is the mountains. There seem to be less people there and I find a lot of peace in that. That said, the smell of the ocean is heavenly in its own right.
Owned property in the mountains. The wife and I got older, sold the mountain property, retired, moved to the beach. One reason was infrastructure, medical care etc...
Growing up in MN, Land of 10,000 Lakes, I'm a water person. I love water and I prefer it warm.
