Hey everyone! since there doesn't seem to be any thread on the MTL forum for future projects and econ updates, I've decided to make one. So any news about future real estate/transit or investments/econ news etc... can be discussed here.

Recent news:

1. Montréal No. 1 city in the Americas for the value of foreign direct investment

2. Mobile games leader MegaZebra selects Montréal for its first international office

http://www.montrealinternational.com...tional-office/

http://www.montrealinternational.com...e-in-montreal/

4. Game localization specialist Altagram opens Montréal office to lead North American expansion

http://www.montrealinternational.com...can-expansion/

Of course there's a lot more, but I didn't want to overwhelm the post either.

It's about time Montreal is recognized as an Alpha City. I always thought it has exerted tremendous influence and is well known throughout the world. On an aside I was surprised how lowly Ottawa scored however.

In my eyes, Montreal is an Alpha city (not Alpha-) especially given that we're becoming an A.I/tech/biomedical hub, increasing FDI and we added a ton of new destinations for YUL. MTL is prevalent in Euro and becoming big in the Asian markets as well finally!

They should do it! Montreal's skyline still has room to grow.

More info about the project, it's $700 million, has 1,500 units (500 rental, 1,000 condo), mix use and will be 220 metres tall above sea level (so around 185-190m in height. There will also be commercial shops at street level and if everything goes to plan, construction starts end of 2019 and they'll build one tower at a time.
