Well, that is a good opinion to keep in mind, thanks. I know this next question may be redundant, but what about the "purple" area of Cordova..? The place I'm looking at is off Dexter Rd. and N. Germantown Pkwy (Bridge Creek Dr).

Nothing at all wrong with that area. I lived near there for the last 7 years. I think the entire Cordova area shown in purple should be green. I don't know what surrounding areas anyone would be concerned about....it's surrounded by Bartlett and Lakeland on the north, Germantown on the south, somewhat rural Shelby County including Fisherville and Eads on the east, and the Bridgewater area on the west. The Bridgewater/Whitten section is the only part that isn't quite nice, and there's nothing wrong with it....it's just mostly older. None of these areas are high crime areas.

^ Yeah I don't get why it's colored purple either. There are nothing but green areas around it. Midtown and parts of East Memphis should be purple, they are very close to bad areas

Is the map based solely on crime? I could see how someone could possibly interpret Cordova as "declining" due to it's new inclusion as Memphis city instead of Shelby Co for schools. taxes, house assessments, etc. ?

The annexation was almost 10 years ago - so any decline in property values due to that would have occurred long ago.

this area, along w/ the jonesboro metro area---now that the road system is finished in the area south of jonesboro---is going to become a very high growth and fast growing area. in addition, if the north memphis bridge over the mississippi river comes to fruition, as it most assuredly will, the micro area of blytheville, arkansas and the metro areas of jonesboro, arkansas are going to quickly connect to the metropolitan area of memphis.
Are you kidding? West Memphis is awful.

Transitional. Proceed with caution, get as close to Poplar as possible.

So Raleigh is just as dangerous as Orange Mound? Not... Raleigh has red areas which border Frayser, but there are also lots of quiet neighborhoods that aren't really bad.
