Agreed. Been in Mandarin since 1989 and the growth is unbelievable.
I truly now avoid driving certain times of the day to avoid the heavy traffic.
We do ponder maybe getting a second home/condo in NC/TN just for
a partial yearly escape from all the people.

I am having second thoughts but it's not because of the insurance costs. We relocated to the area from a bigger city where we didn't live in a neighborhood. Now we moved to a neighborhood and I can't go out for a walk without one of them coming up and saying negative things about another neighbor. I can't tell what's going on but it's really stressful. People have said this happens in all neighborhoods around here but I'm not used to it and don't want to get used to it. Where I am from people were too busy for this kind of petty stuff. I shouldn't have to stay inside to avoid something like this. It seems to only happen around here, I've never seen anything like this before, even when visiting my friends who did live in neighborhoods.

Uh oh, that's real discouraging. We just relocated here. Thinking now this was a mistake.

I would definitely move back. To have (gasp) people talking poorly about neighbors is worthy of packing up your belongings, spending tens of thousands in relocation and moving back home.

Note: heavy sarcasm.

Well you've admitted that you're being sarcastic so I can see why you wouldn't care about my post. I can also see why you wouldn't care about making friends or getting along in your neighborhood, if you even live in one. I happen to care. Don't blame me for that.

M'aam, you're asking downright silly questions on a forum that is about Jacksonville, this isn't a forum re: how to interact with adults. Jacksonville isn't the problem. Re-read that last sentence.

I have never noticed this kind of problem before now so yes, I am wondering if it is a common thing in this area. Some have said that it is. My issue is that I've tried changing the subject but nothing other than staying inside seems to work. My question is silly to you but probably not to someone else who is going through the same thing. Who made you the one to decide on daily issues and problems? This board is for everyone to interact and not just people like you who want to judge and make others feel uncomfortable. If you don't have any advice on dealing with moving and adjusting to a new area then just don't respond.

Based on your answers I, would say you are the problem. You sound like a NYer or Northeasterner and attacking us posters shows where you are at. You are not the first or the last. I was born in NYC and did business there for many years and this is all too familiar. If you don't like it here than by all means go back to where you moved from. You obviously don't fit in here. I have never heard one bad thing from or about any neighbor in the 7 years we have been here. All our neighbors are super friendly and a welcome change from the crabby Northeasterners.

Sorry to disappoint you but I am not from the North like you. Funny you should mention this because some of the neighbors around me enjoy bashing the people from NY which is one of my concerns. A lady who lives a few doors down is very nice and polite but because she is from the North, some of the ones from different parts of the South insult her. If you are from NY, I am sure they'd be saying the same about you. Yes I will move back to where I came from because I don't want to live in a neighborhood where people thrive on drama. Just not my thing. I have received valuable input on this subject but definitely not from you. Like I said before, if you have nothing of value to add then just ignore the post.

Where did you move from?
