It has a rhyme with the tech bubble. This time its large caps with real business in tech but with AI mania which in my opinion going to be a lot more evolutionary than the revolution people are expecting.

AI, electrification and precious metals. Did I miss anything?

I wonder if those of you who have such disdain for the ads on Facebook watch television at all? During an average NFL game there are nearly an hour's worth of commercials.

I hate ads more than anyone, but without ads most of these businesses cease to exist and we're all back to reading books or posting on City Data all day, lol.

That second sentence certainly wouldn't be a bad thing... Just saying.

I own the stock, and I would have bought more if I had cash, but I am fully invested.

But my point is ads are necessary and with FB they don't seem to be terribly intrusive and at least you have some control over what you see. If I find a pleasing photo/ad in my feed I'll just hit "like" so it continues to appear vs. hiding or ignoring it and seeing some obnoxious ads repeatedly.

I will disagree that the FB aren't intrusive. I find there to be as many stupid ads on my feed as there is content from the actual people I'm connected to. That's why it's become too much, IMO. But then, I've been on FB since August of 2004 and remember when there were no ads whatsoever for a long time, and in fact on the front page it boasted that there were no ads "and never will be". Yeah right!

Here's a great article on the "en****tification" of Facebook and other online platforms: https://www.ft.com/content/6fb1602d-...0-047b7d64aba5

I still use the website from time to time to see if Mattress Mary is having any live music at the furniture store or to look at some big tree seeker group photos.

I've deleted it from my phone though. People over 40 post a lot, under that not so much. without any dialogue or group events, there's no reason to have the app, and they can't make any money off me off my once a week 5 minute scroll. Sure I'm still a user, but activity has sure dropped.

I've owned it since I received my IPO allocation. You may recall its IPO was a bit of a disaster, as the stock exchanges computer systems were overloaded with transactions. It was a mess for a couple days.

This is an investing forum. Whether you use Facebook or not is irrelevant to the stock price.
