The only thing I'm really concerned with is how big and wide it gets. That could have impacts on the coasts.

I won't question the spaghetti models but they only go so far right now. IMO too many variables still about 5-7 days out from me.

It's gonna be hundreds of miles off shore, hurricane force winds only extend 35 miles from center (right now). Nice strong breeze for the coast possible, Surfs up, & MAYBE coastal erosion will be the thing with this one, if nothing crazy changes in the track

Cane will end our rainy season that we never had anyways thanks to sinking air on the west side. Love to see that high build in to the southeast and push south of FL and stall it near me as a Cat1.

Hurricane reconnaissance has made it's first sampling of Hurricane Lee's eyewall and eye.

Pressure is down to 928 mb, flight level winds of 150 mph (10,000' altitude). Amazing warm core...~50F just outside of it's core, ~80F in the eye at flight level!

To give some context, the temperature in Lee's eye at flight level (a balmy 80⁰F at 10,000 feet) rivals some of the Atlantic's most notorious – Rita (2005) was at 31⁰C, Katrina (2005) at 29⁰C, Felix (2007) at 26⁰C, and Wilma (2005) at 24⁰C. All Cat 5s.

Hurricane Lee, The Atlantic Beast

The newest 00Z intensity model guidance. Almost every single model has it intensifying into an extremely powerful Category 5. One model even has it get up to 170KTs/195mph. Stretching its legs and peaking at the most it can

I will assume Lee will prevent future canes from strengthening in this path due to the churning of colder water from below. Gotta be massive waves

Another pass finds stronger winds aloft
