This was a long time coming. It will impact the GDP numbers for sure.

Since it’s good news, channel 2 now calls that area “The Woodlands”
But when it’s a crime, they call it Spring

Interesting. That's a flaw in the GDP process, no? While optically this is a good thing for Houston, from an economic standpoint the impacts are minimal.

I think that is always going to be the case.
Spring unfortunately is the buffer between 1960, which is where you can see a change. I live in Spring so I can tell you first hand. The east side of Spring (Hardy / Aldine Westfield / Treaschwig) and on the west side things are better, but it seems to bleed over.

Anyhow, curious to see if this wave of XOM people end up buying what's left of the Spring / Klein / TW area or end up claiming Conroe's inventory.

Yes it’s a huge flaw in the GDP process.

Yes. Agreed with both of these. That’s why I mentioned above that that this is more for bragging rights than anything.

Exxon is #10.

It's a big deal.
Today Exxon announced revenue of $286B +57% Y/Y, and they generated the most profit since 2014.

I think they'll end up in the top 5 of the Fortune 500.

Probably, though Market Cap is the metric that matters and their days of leading that are long gone. Even after this huge rally they are barely top 25.

Yes, the leaders in market cap these days are in the "trillions" now and XOM is still in the 100's of billions.

They are going to need some new technologies like Green Hydrogen to keep up and start growing again. just 10 or 15 years ago energy was like 25% of the S&P index these days it's like 3%.

It won’t happen again. The only Trillion dollar caps are the big 5 Tech plus Saudi Aramco. Just like energy were the leaders 10-15 years ago, big banks were the leaders a decade or so before that. Today, big tech is what big oil and big banks were. It’s a cycle.
