Medicare 101

An unhappy thought - if Mumsy is a green-card holder, did she or her husband have 40 qualifying work quarters in the US (and the associated payroll taxes)? If not, her Medicare might cost more, outside of any late filing fees she may have already incurred.

A more happy thought - she might qualify for Medicaid to supplement her Medicare. Can't help with the particulars there, though.

No work history in the US. It looks like Green Card will reach 5 years in October. I am trying to get ibcome numbers out of her. It is not easy!
