Yes, and though we still make our own Portuguese Sweet Bread sometimes, we love their slider buns.

The Portuguese temperaments on the Hawaiian islands were pretty similar to my Italian/Southern ways. Or, we'll be polite to people if they bother us right to the point where we might suddenly and w/o warning kill them! The Hawaiian locals said that those hair trigger tempers were because most of the Hawaiian Portuguese were from the islands round Portugal, and they were "different" than the home grown variety.

You know how this goes though, it's always the other folks who are to blame, LOL. I actually liked their short tempered ways because I was very familiar w/ it. If anything, I considered it a plus because I knew what to expect. The Portuguese women looked very similar to Italian women too, which was definitely a good thing.
