And unfortunately not very good at running a gas station, but it does have a lot of cheap gas so it's usually been good enough. I wonder if there are more shake ups in store at Rosneft and how long Igor Sechin stays around after the recent mysterious death of his son.

....you mean the Russia that surpassed Germany in economic output with a higher grow rates that the entire EU?? The Russia that has record low unemployment rate and, words of the Financial Times, may end up controlling over 30% of the grain market?? That Russia?? The sooner people realize that Russia is here to stay and you have to deal (meaning talk and negotiate) with it in one way on another, the better. The difference between now and the Cold War is the now the west is run by juvenile incompetent leaders, there are no statesmen left.

The sooner the name calling, the shrill nonsense stops, the sooner we can progress.

I'd watch what the international bankers and corporations are doing. "They" are the real powers.

I suggest you to actually start learning something rather than regurgitating useless blabber from western media.

You can start here with professor James K Galbraith, son of the great John Kenneth Galbraith about Russia, the capabilities of the Russian economic system and Russian power.

I know, learning is difficult and being actually informed, rather than swallowing snippets of sensationalistic nonsense, takes time but it pays off in the long run.....
Whatever comrade, your slant from prior posts is telling.

The reality is that the lowly outgunned/outmanned Ukrainian defenses have staved off the massively "superior" Russian military for two years now. Not only have the Russians been held off but their morale has taken a beating resulting in a seriously downtrodden enlistment who overwhelmingly doesn't want to be there. The Ukrainians on the other hand are fighting for their lives and have the tenacity the Russians lack. In the meantime people like yourself, tRump and newly appointed Putin brown-noser Tucker Carlson can enjoy your little fabricated world of Russian "superiority"...while it lasts.

Again, nice alternative reality. The sooner people in the west accept reality instead of living in a fantasy world, the sooner we can stop this massacre...every day the west keeps living in this fantasy "Russia is weak", "it's a gas station", "Russians will revolt", Ukraine is winning" and nonsense like that is one day of more death and more suffering for the Ukrainian nation.
Ukraine is finished. Is not uncommon for an inferior power to keep a larger one at bay for a while...especially since Russia decided not to go against civilian production centers and refraining from strategic bombing.

I reported data from western media, not Russia.

That is a tired line that has been absolutely proved be false. Russia is not a pariah at all, the so called west is not the world. Wake Up. The West loss of credibility has been massive.
The West has no interest in attacking Russia and NATO is a defensive organisation, and there was no so called hardware placed near Russia, and the West adhered to the START and other such treaties unlike Russia.

As for Russia, it can continue to trade with like minded countries such as China, North Korea and Iran, whilst the West continues trade through the USMCA, EU and CPTPP, which account for the majority of world trade.

As for Russia best of luck with an economy that was the world’s 53rd largest economy, below New Zealand and Peru before sanctions were imposed but has now slipped further down the global economic tables, and how is the Victorious Special Operation going in Ukraine, which has now been dragging on for years, and has resulted in hundreds of thousands of Russian casualties for very little gain.

There were 29,000 Russian casualties last month, and there have been over 355,000 over the last two years.

I would suggest if Russia is struggling with Ukraine then it doesn't start making threats in relation to the rest of Europe and NATO.

I have no idea what you're talking about with Russia surpassing Germany in economic output unless you're doing something funny with purchasing power parity and then on top of that ignore that you have to expend more resources in order to have the same quality of life for a much larger population. I think it's more likely that you don't really understand how GDP comparisons work.

No one said anything about Russia not being here to stay. It's about how Russia is poorly run given what it had. That's pretty obvious with having a much smaller GDP than Germany despite having a larger population, inheriting the lion's share of goods from an even larger predecessor nation, and having absolutely and proportionally far more land and resources.
