I’m surprised that they haven’t made a part 2 for Titanic. I’m sure it would be a big hit if they create one. What do you guys think?
If Disney did ....expect an all female crew that are somehow able to keep the Titanic from sinking, AND they would have time to SAVE an all male crew from a sinking fishing boating.

They had the AIRPLANE and SCARY MOVIE films which I found amusing for the most part. But they could do a spoof of Titanic in the same vein. Or they should have. Leslie Nielsen as the captain would have rocked it.

True; it's not like the ending is going to change.

Titanic is in a class of its own. I say leave it alone. It would be like trying to remake the Wizard of Oz, Casablanca or Miracle on 34th Street.

Oh yeah, this looks good.
Thanks for that -- and 52 million views! Obviously, there might be something there as far as an idea for movie writers and producers.

I would love to see a movie about someone who was 15 in 1924, frozen and revived today, and see him experience the U.S. 100 years later. Now that would make a movie, imo. (Yes, that was "kind of" done with Mel Gibson in the movie "Forever Young", but he was frozen in about 1944 and revived only about 50 years later.)

Anyway, I just watched an old episode of the Andy Griffith show on DVD in which Andy gives Opie a lesson in U.S. history, and it was interesting how many things in 1960 that were taken for granted as being perfectly okay would not be approved for a 'serious' mainstream TV show today -- for example, teachers requiring order and politeness in the classroom, young children being referred to as boys and girls based only on their appearance, and that sometimes some kids "deserved" a spanking (not Opie, of course, lol).

TBH the first movie was a lot of historical nonsense.

#4: There Were Not Enough Lifeboats - True

In the movie, due to the limited number of lifeboats, passengers can be seen scurrying to climb aboard them in an attempt to escape the sinking Titanic. And this is accurate. The Titanic had enough lifeboats to accommodate 1,178 people, which was about one-third of the ship’s overall capacity. But shockingly, this figure actually exceeded the legal requirement. Lifeboats were expected to be used to ferry passengers from a sinking ship to a rescuing ship, meaning that lifeboats could be reused for multiple passengers. Of course, this wasn’t the case with the Titanic. Another tragic fact is that due to the chaotic circumstances, many lifeboats were not filled to capacity, leaving seats empty.

#3: Will Murdoch Cracked Under Pressure - False.

Movies need villains, and Titanic has a few - many of whom are fictional. But First Officer William Murdoch, who’s seen angrily dismissing and shooting passengers, before turning the gun on himself, is based on a real character. But, he was far from a villain. In fact, William Murdoch was hailed a hero for his actions, helping fill a reported 10 lifeboats full of passengers, before losing his life during the disaster. James Cameron has openly admitted that his screenwriter side took over when it came to depicting Murdoch’s story. At least he did still make the Titanic’s Captain Smith a hero. There are conflicting reports, but some claim that the captain went down with the ship, as in the film.

#1: There Was Class Discrimination with the Lifeboats - False

Although there were first, second and third class facilities on board the RMS Titanic, and a wide variety of passengers with different occupations and status, there was no class discrimination when it came to loading passengers onto lifeboats. Once the severity of the situation hit, the priority of the crew was to get as many people as possible, regardless of wealth, off the ship and into lifeboats, starting with the women and children. Also, that scene where third class passengers are locked below deck as a means to take care of them, is absolute nonsense.

Top 10 Things Titanic Got Factually Right & Wrong -MoJo (2023)
According to the U.S. committee investigating the sinking, 1,517 lives were lost, with the Titanic crew suffered the most casualties, with about 700 fatalities.

The Crew were mainly from the Southampton area in England.

549 – the number of crew members from Southampton who died in the sinking.

5 - the number of days after the disaster that the names of survivors were posted up outside the offices of the White Star Line, at which point the scale of the losses amongst Southampton families became clear.

4 – the number of crew members who failed to get to the ship before she left Southampton, following an evening spent drinking together. A passing train near the docks delayed their progress, and so brothers Alfred, Bertram and Thomas Slade, along with a trimmer named Penney, narrowly avoided sailing on the doomed liner.

1 – the number of crew who left the ship early in the voyage (a young stoker named John Coffey jumped ship at Cobh in County Cork, Ireland – then known as Queenstown – the last port of call on the Titanic’s maiden voyage before heading into the Atlantic. Coffey claimed to have had a ‘sense of foreboding’ about the voyage).
