now this is hysterical. original source is the washington comPost

Quote:
The Washington Post has an article about Democrat data scientist Aaron Strauss, who helps direct progressive spending at the firm OpenLabs, warning his peers that registering young people to vote, young people of color specifically, is helping Donald Trump.

The data shows that when Democrats help register young voters, they end up registering people who will vote for Trump. Now they are considering not even holding voter registration drives in target markets because they align with Trump.
[comPost]“Indeed, if we were to blindly register nonvoters and get them on the rolls, we would be distinctly aiding Trump’s quest for a personal dictatorship,” Strauss argued in the memo, which was obtained by The Washington Post and cited recent polling that showed Trump’s strength among unregistered voters.[/comPost]

we've always known these get-out-the-vote drives are invariably and actually get-out-the-democrat-vote.

From The Washington Post article...

Quote:
At the root of the conflict is a shift in the political preferences of nonregistered voters. Gallup found in 2016 that about 51 percent of those not registered to vote identify as Democrats or leaned Democratic, compared to 31 percent who identify as Republican or leaned Republican. Those numbers were largely consistent with findings from 2012.

But Gallup surveys in 2023 and 2024 have found the Democratic share of the nonregistered population has fallen to 42 percent, while the Republican share has risen to 40 percent. Another 2023 survey by the Pew Research Center found nonregistered voters favored Democrats over Republicans by margin of 45 percent to 37 percent.

Polls in recent months have regularly shown Biden polling below 2020 levels among Black and Latino voters. A recent Quinnipiac University poll found Biden pulling support from 60 percent of Black voters and 34 percent of Hispanic voters in a five way race with Trump and three third-party candidates. Exit polls in 2020 showed Biden winning 87 percent of the Black voter and 65 percent of the Latino vote.

The addition of potential independent contenders like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has tailored his appeal to people disaffected by the current political system, have added to the concern.

“For too long, many funders have relegated the work of mobilizing base constituencies, especially voters of color and young people, to nonpartisan programs,” the memo reads. “This will not work in 2024 with the threat that third-party presidential candidates like RJK Jr. pose.”

makes it explicitly clear that these get-out-the-vote drives from dems like zucky are entirely partisan in nature. they're terrified they might accidently get a republican to vote!

The thing people forget about minority voters is even if they are less Dem more R than previous years, they are still Dem leaning. So another 1000 votes still picks up an 80-100 vote advantage for Dems.

I think we also need to wait into the fall to look at trends. Racial groups (inluding whites) do not vote in lock step. So if Florida's Cuban or Central American voters are going largely R, that does not mean the Dems should not be working hard to get more voters from Puerto Rican or Mexican descent to vote in NC or Ga. Ditto Az. The most interesting states are likley Texas for Hispanics as they vote wildly diferent in diferent areas and Georgia for African Americans as that state has seen black voters fully mobilized/energized to flex their power but also a contingent of conservative AA voters who are often overlooked.

There are just as much left-leaning young as there are right-leaning.

Regardless, it's the vast majority of moderates - of all ages - who will prevent another Trump term, exactly like in 2020. But keep your feeble fantasies going, since you can't get through the day otherwise.

The Gen Z or “Zoomers” are surprisingly conservative (some even say puritanical) in their beliefs. I hope they put a wooden stake in the heart of this political nonsense we see today.

Maybe in your mind, based on where you live. It's completely the opposite where I live currently. They are heavily if not excessively blue/left. Looking at the big picture nationally though, it's quite even. But it won't matter anyway, because the moderate majority across all ages will make the decision. Despite all the noise and angst and extremism these days, that hasn't changed.

then please explain why these democrat data analysts are suddenly terrified of registering new voters, when they never were before.

I think I saw the guy who did the study being interviewed on tv this morning. Seems there have been changes more than in the past. The young men are more conservative the females, more liberal. The young men are feeling that males are being blamed for all that is wrong with the world.

there is definitely a larger political divide between the sexes than before. it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a focused effort by the left to register females, not males.
