Pretty much. I was definitely pushing my luck with only 32mm tires! In fact there was one section where it was just too risky, and I got off and walked.

I got out early this morning hoping to beat traffic on Chuckanut Drive. Rode down into Skagit Valley just a little, then turned north-ish and explored some back roads. Came back up by Lake Sammish and finally back to Bellingham. 31.5 miles with 1500 feet of climbing.

Rode in the Bradshaw mountains near Prescott on Thursday. I must admit the trails around Prescott are meh, so so.

Rode the trails outside of Oak Creek Village yesterday. These trails are awwwwwwwome!! Drops, jumps, slick rock technical, roller coasters they've got it all. These trails must have been designed by mountain bikers. Moab aint got nuttin on Sedona.

Beautiful views Lamplight. I dont think there's any place more beautiful than the US PNW in the summer.

Thanks! And that looks like quite a trail you rode. Makes me think I need to get back into mountain biking! I rode about 28-30 miles yesterday, just up to Ferndale via back roads.

Elizabeth Park in Bellingham

My map showed this trail running along the Nooksack from Marine Drive to Slater Road, so I decided to try it. Shortly after this picture the trail became so overgrown that I could just barely tell where I was going. I could only sort of tell where the trail was by the way the tall grass and brush met and the fact that I was riding in the only open space among the larger bushes and trees. It was obvious no one had used the trail in a very long time. But I kept plowing through it and eventually made it to Slater Road.

On the other side of Slater Road, the trail continues to Hovander Homestead Park and downtown Ferndale. This portion of the trail was excellent. And yes, that's a port-a-potty in the middle of empty field.

And finally, Hovander Homestead Park.

Just a short ride to Lake Padden this morning, but I explored a new trail. I was on my rando bike, and while this trail was mild at first (shown in these photos) and my bike works great for that, eventually it basically turned into a moderate mountain bike trail. That didn't stop me, though, I just probably looked funny to other people on the trail. I rode the whole thing though!

for the summer solstice, a 70 mile ride with a short hike. Here the ride photos. A house with a date (about 1795). Seems like houses from that era don't have a full second floor though I saw several later that did.

And another. Sign on the dark barn says 1790. Not in the best shape, looks like it went through 220 years, or maybe the house is from 1790?

getting up into less houses and mostly woods. Noticed this pond I don't remember seeing before:

the road, going into a state forest:

At the top of the hill in the state forest, is a rather shakey feeling fire tower. From the tower I see trees.

more from the tower:

Nice shots, nei. Looks like a great ride and those gravel/dirt roads look like a lot of fun! I was going to explore a logging road today, but I got to Lake Padden and just ran out of energy. Probably not even six miles.

I did 19 miles today on my trusted 20 year old mountain bike. Unfortunately, where I live the view is pretty boring.
