I agree witht the poster above. I have quite a few visible tattoos. Although not on the face and certainly not similar content. Mostly abstract tribal-ish designs that I came up with myself originally intended to hide a few scars sustained in childhood. However, I understand why TJ Maxx and possibly other customer-front positions at other companies would reject her as a candidate. I would support TJ Maxx and the like if they fight back. While at work, you represent the company and they certainly should hire the candidate that could represent the goods and services that the company is offering.
In my opinion, it is just another attention-seeking individual that is all too common these days. Obviously, I have nothing against tattoos but it is a personal choice and you have to own up to your personal choices. This individual also does OnlyFans. I would think many companies would also have a problem with that.
I personally never had a problem with my tattoos. I did have one customer front job that required uniforms; we had a choice of short sleeve polos or long sleeve button-ups. My tattoos were never a problem before the change happened and I worked their for many years. My boss requested that I wear the long sleeve button-ups to cover the majority of my tattoos just in case a customer had a problem with them. I gladly complied.
I agree. Her "look at me, look at how unique and different I am" appearance can be a turn off for many employers.
How people can mutilate themselves in this fashion suggests some kind of deep seated personality disorder. And the Only Fans connection. Any employer would pass on this mess.
I don't want or have permanent body decor myself, but I don't mind if other people do. Some I've seen is amazing. Some is ridiculous or offensive. Still, it is your body after all. There are consequences to freedom both good and bad. Just as you are free to decorate yourself, others are free to not like the choices you make. Whining when others exercise that freedom you yourself insist on is hypocritical and frankly, a waste of time.
Ironic in a way, isn't it? By insisting on her freedom so vehemently, she's actually ended up limiting it. And she did that all by herself.
I liked the comment someone left on the article:
"Sometimes when you flip society the bird it flips one right back!"
Be careful what you wish for...

There's actually another lady that was in an article bemoaning that her face tattoos were being unfairly used against her in hiring, and her face ink was far more numerous than this lady's. A lot of people felt her attitude would also turn people off.
But for customer service face to face interactions, unless you want to work in a tattoo shop or a traveling circus, no retailer wants someone like this lady interacting with people. Many people do not want to look at and interact with someone scary looking as that.
I don`t even want servers with tats, on their face and hands, serving me my food. To me it is dirty and disgusting.
Why? Can it be unappealing? Sure. But dirty disgusting? I don't know much about tattoos, but I do know once it's healed, a tattoo can be washed or scrubbed however the person chooses. For all you know that server's hands are cleaner than yours because their employer follows proper food service hygiene practices!
She thinks she's special enough that a potential RETAIL employer looking for PART TIME help would look her up on social media to see what she looks like before she gets a form letter rejecting her? Hahahahahahahahah.
Her application probably never even made it as far as being seen by an actual human being in the first place.
People and their misplaced sense of self importance.... sigh.
Right. It's just wild speculation on her part.
In this case, taking the rejection at face value would mean they didn't see her face.
FWIW, I think she looks awful.
