How about building a Kohl’s here as well and some other stores. My wife spends all her time back n forth down transit road into erie county. More revenue is lost for Niagara County.
Too bad we have to drive to Erie county for everything. I only bought here cause my wife is from here. If I could move my house to another location. Plus I don’t like snow. They don’t as much as the south towns.
We had a business in Lockport since the 1950's. We moved it from downtown to Transit near Robinson in the 1990's. We sold it and its back in the city the last I knew. Lockport has really suffered from the GM downsizing. Many high paying jobs with great benefits disappeared. GM used to be more than 50% of our business and when we sold it, maybe 10%. It went from being one of our best locations to the worst. Lockport now has a lot of folks on social assistance. Back in the 1950's it was thriving, GM had over 10,000 employees and now its maybe 1500 including everything. The salaries and benefits are also not as good.
