Lets look at two rotaries.

First one is not in Michigan and sees a ton more traffic than any mentioned here.


between the exit and entrances, the white line is solid. There are dashed lines to get you out of the rotary, but to enter you have to cross the dashed lines. Meaning while the lines are dashed, they can be crossed.

Similarly, here's the double rotaries at Lee Rd in Brighton:


If you are on the exit ramp from 23 and want to enter the rotary (to cross over 23), you have to cross dashed white lines. It isn't the cleanest rotary - it goes from 2 lanes to 3 in the west one!

"Cleanest rotary" is an oxymoron. Looking at Google Maps I see there is a third roundabout on the other side of the freeway. So three in a row. If somebody doesn't start saying "no" to these traffic engineers who are ramming this garbage at us, things are going to get a lot worse.

And what the hell kind of a sign is this? This is not a MUTCD standard sign. It looks like it was hand painted by a class of first graders.
