Yeah, I was quite surprised.

Another go round for one of Ithaca's suburbs. Not sure if this is ever going to happen, but what the heck. From the Ithaca Voice:

Well, they've certainly dragged their feet on this! Maybe they called up Ithaca for tips on how stall a project.

They've gone crazy! All these projects getting the green light. What the heck changed in Ithaca? Since when do they move things along? LOL

Surprisingly, the Mayor has shown a pro development attitude. Maybe since he is so young (just turning 30) he can look beyond the nostalgic image of a small, sleepy college town, and see a progressive, successful city growing.

Whatever the reason, I'm not complaining.

I just say thank goodness! They've been dragging projects along for years. It's nice to see them moving things along. Costs increase the longer they drag things out. It makes the city look like they're stuck in 1950. I'm happy for the progress. I don't live in Ithaca, but I visit frequently. I'm always looking for something new there especially things not near the colleges.

Two of Ithaca's recent controversial proposals are giving it another try. Both have not been able to get through the approval process (many Nimbys at work). From the Ithaca Voice:

https://ithacavoice.com/2017/02/will...s-city-review/

https://ithacavoice.com/2017/02/magu...thwest-ithaca/

I'm keeping my fingers crossed they will be seriously considered.
