I remember going to Catfish Haven - South Parkway, across the river.

I had a couple aunts that worked there for Jerry Taylor, the owner. Here's a handful of others I miss from my childhood:

Catfish Cabin on Blue Spring at Oakwood behind the Kroger - frog legs!
Britling Buffet on Governors where HH Medical Mall is now-Mayor Battle's family owned that place
Mr Steak on South Parkway where Charrito's is now
El Mexicano on Patton Rd and Bob Wallace
Sambo's on South Parkway at Golf Rd where the "Freddy's" building is now. This place was lawsuited into submission over claims of racism in their marketing.
Dawg House on Bob Wallace near Triana (pronounced "TRY-ANNA" by the way)

It was right before the river and was attached to the texaco. I said that with sarcasm as I worked there back in the late 90s. Lots of memorable events happened there.

- Fogcutter, was on University, is now Bentley Hyundai.

I still have not found anything in Huntsville that can even compare with the above restaurants.
You should try out the Bottle downtown. Sounds like quite a few people from Green Bottle are into it. Downtown Huntsville's newest dining option, The Bottle, to have 'soft opening' Friday night | al.com

I miss the Fogcutter too That's where I took my wife for dinner before I proposed to her, always will be a special restaurant to us.

""Howery was the longtime sous chef at the Green Bottle, and former Green Bottle owner Anne Pollard is an investor in the new downtown restaurants.""

Nice to see these two back.
Looks to me that I need to check this out ASAP.

Thank you Jake
