I love our house, it needed a new roof and Hvac system when we bought it but that was budgeted. I've changed a few things to fit our taste but other than that it's a nice place to be.

The kitchen is in the middle of the house so grocery hauling is a pain and mostly, the master bedroom is right off the living room. Absolutely no privacy with this silly master and secondary bedroom division.

Laundry has no regular 15amp outets! Just the one 30amp for the washer.
I would have like to use the counter as a USB recharge center, a lawn mower battery recharge center and/or maybe just be able to iron some clothes.

I kick myself for not replacing it before moving in when I bought the house. When I do get to it, it will be a big messy job.

It was popular in the SW decades ago. Don't know why. It's ugly, hard to walk on, hard to position furniture, and forget moving chairs around.

Love everything else about my house.
Although I don't like my small kitchen, at least it doesn't have saltillo tile!

I agree with you about saltillo tile. I hate it with a passion. It's lumpy, bumpy and hard on the feet, and I don't like the way it looks, either.

It's on my house buying wish list as the number one NO-NO and it is unfortunate that it is so prevalent in Southwestern houses.

I have always had a half bath (for decades anyway) near the living area in my house but now that I've downsized, I have a hall bath for the two bedrooms there and then a master bath. I really miss that half bath!

Being in MN, I'm kind of annoyed I don't have an attached garage. My house is also sort of "compartmentalized" and I'm not crazy about that sort of home.

But I inherited a chunk of it so my monthly mortgage is like $790, so I don't see myself going anywhere (unfortunately, since I am sick of all the inner-city riff-raff and crime that comes with living in the inner city).

The kitchen pantry. It's way too deep to organize effectively.

Crummy old carpeting. I think next will be some sort of luxury vinyl that looks like wood. At 76 we have stains from years of dropping or spilling things that were not easy to clean.

Lack of closet space on the main level.
Master Bedroom downstairs, laundry upstairs.

Considering a small main level addition to fix both issues.
