OK, just had phone intervivew & I was able to answer everything they asked w/o having to look up anything, etc. I worked a few jobs in the last 12 mos, so she asked about them (job title, when I ended, how long worked, pay, etc.)

Looks like I still qualify! My current jobs are on-call/seasonal/no week's ever the same. She said to keep certifying & any week that I make less than $600/week, I'll get some money. But $450/week is the most I'll get (depending on what I worked that week.)

Glad it worked out. It did sound like they were having an issue with your monetary eligibility and that may be due to the various employers and not all the wages or quarters tracked correctly to your ssan. Very common and is often fixed once a human gets involved and you are able to provide specifics.

Today, 3/17 should be the day I certify again (& I even confirmed that w/ the phone rep 2 days ago), but when I logged into EDD, there's a REOPEN CLAIM button. Don't know why it would say that when I last certified 2 wks ago & the phone rep I talked to just on 3/15 should have everything current. I guess I'll REOPEN the claim then.

Well, it's been a month since I applied for EDD & about 2 weeks since had a phone interview & it's like I'm at a standstill. I still haven't REOPENED MY CLAIM yet because a message says they'll let me know when to certify. The system hasn't had me certify anymore since 3/5. But, I'll recertify in another week or two, I guess if I still haven't heard any new news.

I still suspect there is a Monetary Issue (wage/time qualification) that is screwing up your claim due to a second year claim.

You need to get on the phone and haunt them until someone can explain exactly what is the issue. Since there could be hundreds of silly issues that causes Monetary issues, until you know exactly what, you may be in a holding pattern until the claim expires a year from now with no resolution. Unlike Non-Monetary items which have statutory reporting requirements, Monetary could be nothing buy a data entry mistake that will never be caught until someone actually looks at it.

Hound EDD until you get an answer to "what's wrong?"

Thank you Rabrrita. I was probably going to do that soon here. So I'll try to do the grueling job of trying to reach a live EDD person via phone. Anyone know any tips to get a live EDD rep on the line quickly? I know after you enter the main phone # (1-800-300-5616 OR is there a better # to dial?), various people say to press a series of something like, 1, then 2, then #, then # in the automated system to get someone. (That was just an example.)

Fortunately, I've earned a pretty good amount so far this month (of March) on the job(s) I have left, so EDD probably would have said I, "exceeded my earnings" in which I wouldn't have gotten anything anyway, but again, w/ my current jobs, every week/month's different & the way April's looking, it's more scarce w/ $. It's never predictable, stable $.

OK, back on track! Fri., 3/29, I would have had this taken care of by EDD, but after a couple of long holds of them, "checking on things for me", the rep hung up on me.

Another rep I talked to today fixed it so I could certify, so did a month at once. I think I worked too much (asa I said before) & probably won't get $ this time, but scarcer weeks are coming.
