If anybody saw this as anything other than a one hit wonder…. Well??

At least there is some valuable info for others looking.

There are a lot of people chasing a fantasy when they move to Montana. They see it on TV or fall in love on vacation and think they can run away from their problems. They think scenery will fix it and people hike, camp, and fly fish all the live long day. Quite a few of them who are sleeping in parks in Bozeman probably thought that.

I'd guess the OP is serious and will be back, but we'll see.

Strong posts sometimes bring on strong replies. That can possibly be a good thing... or not.

Alaska also attracts those who dream of a self-sufficient lifestyle.

Most have no idea how much work and money this takes.

I could see that. Your primary reason for moving should be a job. Then you research and make sure you can afford it. Scenery and possible self sufficiency cones later.
