Also, SE WA and NE OR will have much LESS wind than Montana and Wyoming.

It's a town in NW Montana.
I'm just going to put these numbers right here.

It means they don't want anyone from out of state moving there. Unfortunately the pretty areas out west have become very expensive partly due to out of state money.

Add a 10+ acres filter and the above Zillow Whitefish link narrows to 1 property meaningfully under $1 million. It looks nice on surface... but it is under contract... and for some reason(s), they admit it needs TLC.

But the OP indicated wanting to build. That would be a different list then, wherever contemplated.

Starlink is pretty much available to all of Montana. I've got it and it's been virtually trouble free. Right now I'm pulling 123Mbps down. It's been awesome.

Only thing you have to worry about is an unobstructed view of the N to NE sky. Generally if you can mount it on a roof you're gonna be fine.

Anaconda might fit their bill. Their downtown revitalization has really been something-

Older house on 11ac with some outbuildings for $630,000

Off grid cabin on 20 acres for $599,000

Starlink wasn't available in my state / area before when I checked awhile ago but apparently should be now.

Folks can check starlink site on their own.

One site said they had 1.5 million customers. That doesn't seem like a lot for all the satellites.

Pretty pricey to buy equipment and get service. Speeds not guaranteed. Priority available for a lot more money it appears.

Have to throw 7 figures at it. What else do you want to know. Buying house or land in that area and check all boxes. Good luck. Have to take to good with the bad. Cash is KING.

Yes it is spendy, but I work from most of the time and wife works from home 3 days a week, and our prior los isp only got us on average 8-10 Mbps. And it was spotty. Great customer service from them but unreliable.

I’ve never seen less than 80Mbps with Starlink and it’s been 99.9% reliable for well over a year. I’m on their normal plan, btw.

Good to have alternatives to weak choices in many places. More satellite services supposed to be on way for competition. Will try to find out more about what's coming and how soon.

Amazon's effort is supposed to be 1/2 built by 2026. Alphabet and Meta are among the others working on it too.

I think y'all scared off the organic tokin' yogi in search of a fantasy, she never posted back. Good work.
