I never wore any eyeliner until my daughter was old enough to wear makeup, and she showed me how to put it on my waterline. I’m sure I couldn’t pull it off if I drew it around the outside. That would definitely look harsh.
Won't look harsh if you use brown or gray pencil and smudge it with a QTip or brush to soften the line. Especially good for crepey lids. It makes your eyes look bigger.
