Marshall beats #6 Notre Dame on its home field and Appalachian State follows suit with beating #8 Texas A&M on its home field the same day. Clearly the polling system is off kilter and needs some adjustments.
ODU is in Sun Belt football now too, no ?
They beat favored Va Tech in their opener.. I know Tech isn't what they used to be, but still a good win for a Sun Belt team.
I remember back in the 80s, ODU was in the old Sun Belt basketball conference..

Would love to be a fly on the wall in College Station right now. Appalachian State? At home??? God that’s brutal.

I think the same could be said for South Bend, after seeing what Marshall did to Notre Dame at home!
Notre Dame has been living off their brand and past glories for the last 30 years. And every time they did have a halfway "decent" team over those 30 years and went to the BCS Championship or a major New Year's Day Bowl game or the College Football Playoff, they got embarrassed.
They should definitely try and stay an independent in football for as long as they can, I can't even imagine if they joined the Big Ten or SEC, the carnage they would endure.
It will be interesting to see if Marcus Freeman will be another Tyrone Willingham and be gone in 3 years?
Georgia Southern just beat Nebraska, racking up 642 yards.
Frost is gone, should have been gone before this season even started.
He caught lightning in a bottle at UCF back in 2017, there was no way he was going to be able to replicate that at Nebraska; that was one of those once in every 50 years or every 75 years seasons he had in Orlando!

yall are going a little overboard.
Notre Dame's problem is that they didnt anticipate Brian Kelly leaving . Half the coaching staff is in year one.
