Old City Hall Arts Center

The Old City Hall Arts Center located at 1313 Market Street in Redding, California is an in-operation public theatre that offers year-round plays and theatre shows including Romeo and Juliet, the Taming of the Shrew, and Hamlet. Adult and children's plays are available and a variety of acting classes, art courses, and theatre programs are available at Old City. Dance classes are also given throughout the year at the Old City Hall Arts Center both for adults and children.

Operating under the Shasta County Arts Council or SCAC, galleries, classrooms, and programs are open to the general public. The building was constructed in 1907 and today resides as a historically registered piece of history among Redding architecture. The building was renovated in the late 1980s to provide gallery room and theatre staging. The Old City Hall Arts Center is a popular venue among the general population of Redding and in fact, residents from outlying regions travel into Redding just to see one of the performances.

During the holidays, unique shows are performed and tickets should be purchased well in advance. Parking can be found around the streets surrounding the center and can be found a little crowded if not running on time for performances.
