Turtle Bay Exploration Park

Spanning the Sacramento River in Redding and connected by the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay designed by Santiago Calatrava, Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a 300-acre campus containing educational and entertaining activities that interpret the relationship between humans and nature.

The Park tells the stories of the region and its people through a museum, art gallery, wildlife exhibits, forest camp, a summer butterfly house, amphitheater, and McConnell Arboretum and Gardens. Turtle Bay Museum is the cornerstone of the Park's facilities. Within its 34,000 square feet, five permanent and two changing exhibitions capture the art, history, science, and culture of the region.

The park has seasonal hours and is open from 9 am to 4 pm Wednesday Saturday and Sunday's 10 am 4 pm during the winter months that run from September April. The summer hours include daily operation from 9 am to 5 pm that run May early September.

The exploration park is visited by locals and tourists alike and is a popular draw in Redding. A study of the demographic profiles of people who visited showed that the local support for the park was strong in terms of regular attendance and dollars put back in to the community.
