The video is very hard to watch. What I’d like to know is why don’t the victims in such assault cases file charges? Why did this video sit for so many years before being released by CNN? In the case of famous celebrities attacking women violently, is there a possibility of a fear of retribution such as damaging videos or photos the celebrity has of the victim or threats of ending their career or even their life? What makes the video disturbing to me, more than the violence, is the casual manner in which he carries out the attack as if this is so common to him that he may have engaged in such behavior often and always protected his money and lawyers.
The psychology of Domestic Violence is well known and the fact that she stayed and he didn't fear exposure isn't surprising. First thing to know is that this isn't limited to the wealthy, this dynamic is not limited by race, religion, or economic status. The fact that Combs was rich and powerful made it nearly impossible for her to leave and she probably had few if any places to turn for help. From what I have heard, he would isolate her from view while she recovered from injuries, notice that he went to hit her in places were the injury wasn't visible.
It should also be noted that the law that allowed for this suit to come forward is the Adult Survivors Act in NY state which is the same law E Jean Carroll used to sue Trump. So contrary to popular belief, that law wasn't enacted as a way to get Trump but it gave victims a chance to finally get justice for the things that were done to them.
Cassie sued Combs last year alleging rape and a range of other offenses. They settled out of court in November for an undisclosed amount.
Part of the problem.
Many people complain about Combs being protected. Settling out of court protects him as well. Throw money at the problem, and it often goes away.
Sir, that law suit was public and the number 1 trending subject on every single news site. They made the contents of the lawsuit public. It named multiple names, so we knew everything.
You don't consume that kind of media so you didn't know, but yea, he want being protected, he settled the lawsuit because of the public image issue, further more, it was past the statute of limitation for prosecution for rape just like with Trump.

I read a book about Mike Tyson who was often out of control during his glory years. It wasn’t unusual for Tyson to get upset (usually after drinking) and punch someone. The reason such incidents rarely made the news is management would offer a fat check to the person Mike assaulted to drop all charges. And it usually worked.

Guys could get away with a great deal more back in the 90s, than they can today. It was not as much as an over-policed, hysterically moralizing society.
In his autobiography, Tyson denies ever raping Desiree Washington, but he admits that he has treated women horribly during his time. He said that some of the things he has done were so bad, he will never tell anyone- he will take it to the grave. He said that he was not even mad about going to prison, because he felt it was kind of like karmic justice for all the times he abused women and got away with it.
And yet Tyson is one of the most beloved sport figures in the world- at least by his fans.

Today or fifty years ago. If the other party decides to settle out of court that's often the end of it. And why settle out of court? Money. They're getting a fat check to drop all charges.
Diddy is done. Kicked her twice on the ground not even defending herself. Over what?!
I don't know much about her, Cassie, the victim.
That may explain why it took so long for this vid to surface.
nah-uh,...should have got a restraining order immediately and sent him to jail.
Because that pos has many connections. If he will do that in a hotel hallway, imagine what he does behind closed doors. He was brazen enough to pay the hotel for the footage. How much needed for a hitman? What kind of verbal threats did he make to her?
She went back to the hotel that same night because she was fearful how he would act if she didn't. That should clue you in to what kind of violent, control freak scumbag he is.
They met in the 2000s. She was 19 yo. She had a hit single, and numbnuts grabbed her up, fast.
You have any idea what someone with that much money and that many connections can do? This isn't some average income couple who can't buy anyone off.

Until they change their mind.
