Why are all the people calling for Israel to commit to a ceasefire also not calling for Hamas, who started this war, to commit to a ceasefire? The onus seems to be on Israel, who didn't start this conflict.

I agree.

And what is the summarized argument in defense of Hamas's actions?

How about the big topic that Israel and the IDF are not close to eliminating Hamas, their goal? How did they expect do to that? By killing this many civilians and flattening Gaza, they still have not found the main Hamas mastermind, there are tons of Hamas "soldiers" including those that are in Qatar, and many more young recruits you create everyday by bombing apartment buildings.

Seems like a hell of a mess for Israel.

Israel also didn't start this. Hamas did. Yet, Israel is taking most of the heat for anything that happens.

You beat me to it. This is correct. Hamas started this bloodshed and they can stop it by releasing the hostages and surrendering.

Fixing a rusting frame is a losing battle. There is so much patching that you can do. Sometimes it’s better to scrap it and install a new frame.
And that’s what’s being done now. Operation wipe out.

That is why Israel must go into Rafah to eliminate the last military stronghold of Hamas in Gaza.

Great point, I call for Hamas to ceasefire, surrender hostages, and surrender the Hamas Oct 7 attackers to the IDF immediately!

They are taught to kill non believers and especially Jews. wherever whenever. If this is their goal in life, Israel might as well be proactive and eliminate the threat early. It won't matter whether Israel treats them horribly or well. The goal for Muslims is to kill Jews. With such dogmatic views on life I don't see how Israel and Muslims in Gaza and the West Bank will ever be able to live together.

Our goal should be to keep this fighting isolated in the Middle East. Don't bring in any refugees from the area. We don't need this crap here.

i wish I was more optimistic about a peaceful solution, but history has shown this doesn't improve. How do you stop religious fundamentalism?
