If not for Dallas then fort worth wouldnt exist.
The two cities were founded 30 miles from each other back in the 1800's, a time where 30 miles could feel like 100. They grew at different paces until around the 50's and 60's when they started to grow into each other.

It's one thing to say Fort Worth wouldn't be as big as it is without Dallas (which I don't even think would be true), but it's just completely wrong to say Fort Worth wouldn't exist, as they became cities both on their own.

Fort Worth is not a suburb of Dallas and its status as the metro's second-largest city is pretty much secure.

I honestly don't think Dubai competes with skyscrapers NYC, at least not the overall quality of NYC skyscrapers. And it does have sprawl but what city doesn't? And I do agree you have to give Dallas some credit, but Dallas also has to give Ft. Worth credit; they both feed off each other. It's not like Ft. Worth couldn't survive without Dallas (it would be a suburb if it only could survive by Dallas).

Quick question; do you consider Jersey City a suburb of NYC? If you say yes; then I guess to your standards Ft. Worth is a suburb of Dallas (which we all know it's not), if you say no then it's a stand-alone city.

which city...Charlotte or Ft. Worth is cooler in the summer (I know that it's all relative and both are hot) but is one less hot/humid than the other?

I would venture to say Charlotte is a "hair" cooler in the summer, but you can make a run for the Smokies where it's cooler.

I do consider JC a suburb of NYC. All of north NJ for that matter. Some suburbs become powerful like OC and Ft Worth but they are still low density small towns revolving around a core nucleus

Just the city, I'd take Charlotte. Metros, I'd take Fort Worth - Arlington (excluding Dallas, Frisco, Plano, Etc..)

^^^ (... see what I'm talking about?)

Fort Worth is NOT a suburb. Plus, there is no one core nucleus in DFW. Do I have to spell this out for you?

Fort Worth is actually better than Dallas, much more vibe, IMO.

Hi! Can any body tells me where cheaper housing rent - in Charlotte or in Fort Worth? And also if compare cost of rent with Houston - may be Houston cheaper? And where easier to find quickly rent, especially if not having job offer and credit score (for newcomer in US). May be somebody can advice me some another city with cheap cost of living (especially housing rent), great job market, and not bad public transportation, and housing easy to find.
