I'm wondering if for Austin the "48 total" is including some of the 15 under construction. (Several of which are already topped out). As big as the boom is, I don't think it's accurate that we would pass Dallas after the current under construction batch is finished. Wikipedia lists it as 38 complete with 14 under construction, and that looks correct to me.
This is probably true for all of the cities, but I'm not intimately familiar with the others.
If you catch a view that includes Rainey St all the way to West Campus it is insane how large the skyline is these days for sure.

Thanks for pointing that error out. I reviewed my post and cross referenced with my counting, and that was specifically "user error" on my part for Austin only.
I copied the number down incorrectly. The total completed over 300 feet for Austin should've been "38" and not "48."
So, Austin has "38" completed now, with 15 under construction now (could be a bit more).
The rest should not have such errors (hopefully).
Also, the totals for all others *do not* include under construction, so for example, Nashville has 29 completed as of July 2021, but the other 7 are currently in building "under construction" stage and after a year or two, Nashville will have 36 completed over 300 feet.
Yeah the Los Angeles number doesn't seem right. Emporis says it has over 80 above 350 ft
LA has ~102 buildings over 300’ granted it’s also +400 square miles and extremely poly-centric so it’s skyscrapers are nowhere near as centralized as places like SF, Philly, Boston or Seattle
Is there an Austin poster who has a link to a nice summary or photos of Austin, what they’re building etc?
It seems ridiculous they’re building that much, that fast and consistently for at least a decade. So I’m just curious where it is at. Whenever I randomly look it up, I’m shocked every time even though I already have in my mind it is booming.
When I went to Austin, maybe around 2005, it seemed so unimpressive and tiny. Winston-Salem, NC looked like the larger city. Now Austin looks yuge.
