Young's Valley Trail

The Young's Valley Trail is a scenic hiking trail that runs through the Six Rivers National Forest from Humboldt Hill. The trail is just under five and a half miles in length and take hikers to Wilderness Falls. This is one of two methods for reaching the falls and is the more scenic option. There is a long drive to reach the trailhead and you will be driving for at least an hour from the nearest town to reach the trailhead. After beginning your hike, it is another 10 miles until you reach the falls. The trail is fairly simple, but the first two miles offer a bit of a challenge. Located in the Six Rivers National Forest, you will be surrounded by the redwoods that are overwhelming in the northern California area. The park is made up of over 950,000-acres of National Forest space and 133,000-acres of privately owned land. Recreation in the area includes hiking, horseback riding, biking, camping at sites and at cabins, fishing, hunting, nature viewing, water sports, picnicking, and outdoor exploration. Anyone who loves the wilderness will enjoy a trip to Six Rivers National Forest and they should spend an afternoon exploring the area from the Young's Valley Trail.
