Cakebread Cellars

Located in Rutherford in the Napa Valley, the Cakebread Cellars Winery is a family-owned winery that has been in operation since 1973. It has a reputation for developing world-class wines consistently with high quality grapes, careful family attention, and delicious wines. The winery began when Jack Cakebread arrive to photograph the Napa Valley for a book and friends offered him the chance to purchase their winery. Cakebread has embraced the developments in the wine industry over its years in operation including new farming techniques and marketing methods. Tastings at Cakebread are available by appointment only and there are several tasting options. Tastings are conducted in various locations around the winery, including the barrel and fermentation rooms. Guests can enjoy a Select Tasting of the currently released wines, white wine tastings, red wine tastings, reserve tastings, library tasting, and group tastings. Most of these tastings last just under an hour and prices vary. Cakebread also offers an In-Depth Educational Tour and Tasting for $25 per person which lasts about an hour and a half. This provides visitors a chance to learn about the wine making process, the Napa Valley, the history of Cakebread Cellars, and to taste many of the most popular currently released and reserve wines.
