Observation: Whirlpool and Frigidaire refrigerators are missing thermometers for measuring ambient air.
Correction: Install thermometers in warmest part of unit. Correct By: 19-Feb-2015
- FOOD CONTACT SURFACES - SOILED
Observation: Several utensils stored in drawers are visibly soiled with food debri (whip, can opener, tongs, etc). Garbage container lids are being stored on top of food contact tissue paper.
Correction: Maintain food contact surfaces in a clean condition. Tools were removed and set aside for proper re-cleaning or disposal. Store garbage container lids away from food areas. Correct By: 19-Feb-2015
- USING A HANDWASHING SINK - ACCESSIBLE (corrected on site) (repeated violation)
Observation: Handwashing sink observed to be unaccessable due to a dish drying rack covering the basin and handsoap positioned at another sink during the inspection making it unavailable for proper handwashing.
Correction: Keep handwashing sink free of obstructions and in working condition at all times to allow for frequent handwashing. Drying dishes were removed from handwash sink. Drying rack can sit on counter. Soap was moved to the correct sink for use.
- FOOD CONTAMINATION PREVENTED FROM PREMISE - OFF THE FLOOR
Observation: Tea, coffee, and soup are stored on the floor in the continental breakfast storage area.
Correction: Store all food items 6 inches above and off of the floor. Correct By: 19-Feb-2015
- FOOD CONTAMINATION PREVENTED - MISCELLANEOUS CONTAMINATION
Observation: Continental breakfast items are subject to potential contamination by employee food items and drinks being stored in the same refrigerators and area.
Correction: Change methods or procedures to protect foods from contamination. Have a designated, separate area for employee food and drink storage. Correct By: 19-Feb-2015
- EQUIPMENT AND UTENSILS CONFORM TO ANSI STANDARDS
Observation: Whirlpool and Frigidaire refrigerators and the crockpot are not ANSI certified or approved by the department.
Correction: Once the unapproved equipment is in need of repair or a new operator takes over the facility, the existing equipment shall be removed from food service and replaced with commerical grade equipment. Correct By: 18-May-2015
- HANDWASHING SIGNAGE
Observation: No handwashing signage provided at kitchen handwashing sink and the men's restroom.
Correction: Provide handwashing signage at all handwashing sinks used by food employees. Correct By: 19-Feb-2015
