During routine inspection, a complaint investigation was conducted, RFS#15-0306. Complainant stated the Bar had bed bugs. No infestation was observed during inspection, information provided.
- Thermometers provided and conspicuously placed
No thermometer present in the Whirlpool fridge. Provide thermometer.
- Wiping cloths clean, used properly, stored
Wet wiping cloth found behind bar. Moist cloths or sponges used for wiping food spills on kitchenware and food-contact surfaces of equipment shall be clean and rinsed frequently in one of the approved sanitizing solutions.
- Food contact surfaces of equipment and utensils clean
Interior of Whirlpool fridge-Freezer and Pizza Oven were found to be heavily soiled. Clean and sanitize on a routine basis to ensure proper food safety..
- Restrooms with self-closing doors, fixtures operate properly, facility clean, supplied with hand soap, disposable towels or hand drying devices, tissue
1) No self-closing device on men's and women's restroom doors. 2) Restroom doors were propped open upon arrival to establishment. Provide a self-closing device on restroom doors. Keep restroom doors closed when not being cleaned. 3) No paper towels at hand sink. Provide Paper towels at handsink.
- Floors properly constructed, clean, drained
Floors behind bar and in men's and women's restrooms are in disrepair with chipped and missing pieces of flooring. Repair or replace flooring.

Walls, including non-supporting partitions, wall coverings and ceilings of walk-in refrigerating units, food-preparation areas, equipment-washing and utensil-washing areas, toilet rooms and vestibules shall be light-colored, smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable.

A numerically scaled indicating thermometer/recording thermometer, accurate to plus or minus 3°F, shall be provided and conspicuously placed in each mechanical refrigerator and each hot food storage facility.

There is still a gap present at the hand wash sinks, and the trim around the sink is in disrepair. Provide sealing or caulking around the sinks. Equipment shall be sealed to the adjoining equipment or adjacent walls or ceilings if exposed to seepage or splash.

The floor behind the bar area is in disrepair, there are areas of missing tiles and possibly missing or damaged sub flooring. Repair all floors. The owner stated that the floors would be replaced when the keg cooler is replaced. Foods are served here Tuesday and Thursday, the owner is also the owner of the neighboring Garden Street Cafe. He provides food for the facility and cleans up all equipment and stores it at the Cafe. Note, this is not done on a routine basis.
