Backflow Prevention Device when Required, Backflow Prevention Device on Carbonator (46.823(d)(e))
Backflow prevention device is not installed on the water inlet line of ice machine. *** 46.823(c)-(e) - Numbers & Capacities of Plumbing Facilities: Utility Sink, Backflow Prevention Device when Required, Backflow Prevention Device on Carbonator (c) Utility sink. At least one utility sink or one curbed cleaning facility equipped with a floor drain shall be provided and conveniently located for the cleaning of mops or similar wet floor cleaning tools and for the disposal of mop water and similar liquid waste. (d) Backflow prevention device: when required. A plumbing system shall be installed to preclude backflow of a solid, liquid or gas contaminant into the water supply system at each point of use at the food facility, including on a hose bib if a hose is attached, or on a hose bib if a hose is not attached but can be attached, by an approved backflow prevention device as specified in § 46.822(d) (relating to design, construction and installation of plumbing systems).
