2. Black Hills Roundup

City: Belle Fourche, SD
Category: Annual Events & Festivals
Telephone: (605) 892-2643, (888) 345-JULY
Address: Roundup Street

Description: The first roundup in 1918 was a Red Cross benefit. This long-standing and entertaining event still takes place over five days around the Fourth of July, and there’s a lot to see and do. You can enjoy carnival rides, a free barbecue, roundup and horsemanship performances, a 10K run, a parade, and the Miss Rodeo South Dakota Pageant. The roundup itself is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) event, with traditional rodeo competition and entertainment. Brothers Marvin and Mark Garrett, Belle Fourche’s world-champion riders, usually attend and compete as well. Ticket prices for the rodeo range from $9 to $16 for adults, depending on seating selection, with discounts for children. Most other roundup events are free. The Roundup Grounds are 1.5 blocks west off US 85 (5th Street).
