Does anyone know someone who refinishes/paints furniture. I have a crib and dressing table that I want painted white. Needs to be done with the VOC paint and reasonable in price. I'm in the Fort Mill area. Thanks

did you get your job done?

I think you meant to say you needed NON VOC paint.

Olympic Premium and Benjamin Moore Aura have lower VOC levels than other tested paints and did a good job in testing. Allowable levels of VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, for paints have been toughened because VOCs are linked to respiratory illnesses and memory impairment.
Interior Paints: Which low VOC paint is best?

so you'd want a paint with zero VOC or low levels.

No, the quotes that I received were a little to high and I guess you are right, about the VOC. I wanted to paint a crib white and wanted the safest paint for the baby. The crib is 4 years old and am trying to save some money, but the quotes were $300 - $350 to paint it. I saw an crib in Target for $179 and does not look much different than the one I have. Thanks for the reply and the info.

that baby will out grow the bed and won't notice the bed being new, used, painted, etc.
Go ahead and consider sanding it down a little, and get some low VOC spray paint and do it yourself.....under $20 for the 2-3 cans of paint.

You want it white, well, if the current color is some dark green or blue, white won't cover too easily.
I've used alot of cans of spray paint, things come out looking pretty good, just avoid running and let light coats dry before applying another.
