The Michael Phelps issue is being well over blown as far as criminla offense is concerned , dont you think?
they just arrested two guys who lived at that dorm before and its actually 30 days in jail if you get caught with a joint of marijuana and $500 if you had a pack of papers?

I was born and raised here and have no earthly idea what or why the Richland County Sheriff and his merry deputies are doing this ... goodness can you imagine the amount of mj bonging and smoking that goes on at USC??
I just wonder who took that picture of Michael Phelps ... it's sad to me to think someone would take a picture and then send it out for publication. Also it's strange why was it sent to the UK ... I guess the Enquirer or Star or those other rags wouldn't buy it ... of course I don't know if the 'pic taker' received any money for his efforts.
I am not condoning bongs and mj ... we raised a son and if there was something to get into ... he got into it. The Sheriff is bringing more bad publicity to South Carolina ... Phelps lost Kelloggs, he apologized and the media will not leave it alone. Phelps did something no one else has ever done in China and all of America was proud. We watched all of the Olympics and it was because of Phelps and of course hubby drooling over the girls beach volleyball team.

it's funny that marajuana laws and sentences are tougher than some violent crimes and gun charges..and people wonder why the south carolina is backwards and still in the 15th century.

It's all about publicity, the media makes money, by making it seem like the crime of the century, because they know that is what sells air time and papers. Somehow Senators who forgot to pay their taxes and get appointed to cabinet positions don't get nearly as much time in the news as a guy smoking a bong. Go figure.
