Hi..still working on a potential move to the Charlotte area and have questions about data/TV/cell options.
In my current (out of NC, SC) location I run Direct TV(15 yrs..no real complaints other than cost), and a more local cell carrier for phone & wifi internet. No landline phone needed.
I hope to find a home west or SW of Lake Wylie and commute into SW Charlotte.
I'll be looking for cell phone(android, if it matters..no longer an apple fan), high speed internet, and TV connections.
..basically what are the (best) options? Any comments on quality of service?

Same as most of the country. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile. Quality depends on where you need to use it.
Also in that area Comporium controls most of the land-based internet and TV connections.
There was an article at Fort Mill Times online that Time Warner Cable just might be coming to Fort Mill in the near future. So that may open up the ability to have someone other than Comporium. Woot!

While I think it is good that TW is looking to get a franchise agreement to provide service to Tega Cay; I'm not so sure that even if they get the agreement that anything will happen anytime soon.
TW would have to build the infrastructure needed to provide the service and Comporium would not be required to let them use their existing infrastructure. Which means that TW would incur a big cost building out and installing their own infrastructure just to provide service.
This is the biggest reason why no one has came in to compete with Comporium for cable/internet service in the area and also the same reason why most cable companies don't compete with each other in other areas; as the cost to build the infrastructure doesn't justify the potential gain in new customers.
If you consider living on the SC side of SW charlotte, almost every inch has 4G from all the major carriers, although T-mobile (like everywhere else) starts to fade as you get away from the larger roads. Sprint still won't let you use data while on the phone, unless you use Google hangouts for VoIP (or another method of VoIP). I had no complaints (except cost) while using Verizon in the area previously.
I've had no issues with Dish, my father in-law has Direct TV and I can't stand using his TV when at his house, could be just the interface as he doesn't have a DVR though... I can't provide a link right now, but there was a survey result posted about 2 or 3 years ago where people voted the Dish interface to be the easiest to use, but I still complain about it.
Don't bother trying to use cell service for internet, I tried when I first moved to Rock Hill as Comporium screwed up my install because they had no record that my house had fiber lines put in (by Comporium themselves...) during construction. I ended up waiting 45 days to get internet in my home and went to Verizon for a 4G/LTE mifi... Bad idea, I worked from home at the time, and my work laptop over VPN ate up 15GB in 3 days... (they had a lot of "monitoring" tools running on it) I had a very expensive bill and closed the account after a week.
just some thoughts for you as you consider your choices.

The same thing happened in 2007, big hoopla from TW they were coming into the area. The VP making the announcement was Rebecca (somebody.) I lost all my correspondence with her and her hired help. Financially they ran into a brick wall, Comporium and the infrastructure. Comporium does not play well with others, they do not share. LOL You want it, build your own.
Over the last hundred years RH Telephone now Comporium has covered the area with their wires, cables, all the infrastructure they need to hang on for another hundred years. They actually welcome anyone to the area knowing the financial cost involved will usually hinder any competition.
Perhaps TW has determined Tega Cay will be financially viable and profitable for them. I do know TW backed out the last time they made their announcement.
