The monopoly, I mean the Comporium broadcast station fee went up $1.51 and the digital basic plus went up $2.00. The catawba services franchise fee went up 21 cents and the total caused the tax to go up 31 cents. Net increase of $6.02 which effectively removes the $5.00 bundle discount.

We need Alacarte type cable where we pay for a package and add individual channels of our choice for 79 cents a month per chosen channels, or something to that effect. One of these days government regulations or the internet and free TV will change the cable industry.

Same here. I bought my own modem this week, so no more $6 modem fee.

We don't see a modem fee on our bill.
Time Warner has a special going on - cable, internet, and phone for a total of only $79.99.

I just went through a hassle with Time Warner and got our bill down to merely unreasonable instead of grossly unreasonable. I mean literally we have had the new rate for ONE month. Now with this bill I get a notification that we will be seeing our rates go up next month due to an increase in network charges.

I mean.......what is the purpose of a "contract" if they can just willy-nilly raise the rates???

Before I hassled with them I went to the Comporium store near the Harris Teeter and what they quoted me as a new customer was higher than what TW offered me for being a long time customer. I queried the woman if that was the best she could do, and she said yes. Not sure why she didn't quote me the rate from the website. Although I wonder how much in taxes they would add to the 79.99. I do know that their add on taxes were a lot higher than TW.

Comporium wont help you on rates. They dont give discounts. Their "bundle" deals are hardly deals.

My bill just went up another $1.
