Can anyone tell me lil bout the area? I plan on moving to NC/SC in January from TN. I have a great job off in Charlotte down E Indepence at a car dealer. I have family in Belmont NC. I was looking for a place that is nice for a family. Good schools, safe neighborhoods, fishing, etc... I found a few rental homes in Rock hill and started to look more into this area. How are the schools? Any areas to look out for? Can you recommend this another area within 45 min of E Indepence in Charlotte and also within 45 min of Belmont. We are looking to rent at first. Prefer a house or townhouse.
If I live in SC and work in NC do I pay both SC and NC state tax?
thanks

Independence is a right tough commute to Rock Hill---I don't know if you could make it in 45 minutes or not during rush hour. You might think about the Monroe area, if you're looking to get into a smaller town, or if you want SC, maybe Indian Land which is probably 15 minutes closer to Independence than RH. If you live in Sc but work in NC, you will pay income taxes to NC, but you have to file returns to both states (no taxes due in SC).
