I drove past a couple of historical points. Silly me, I never want to stop as my brain operates like a railroad schedule. Split Rock was interesting, I have since learned it was a landmark that the Pony Express used! About a half hour away from that was something called "Glacier Flats", or something similar. I wonder if that is the area where the glaciers ended during the last ice age. Not sure. The geography between there and Lander is quite fascinating with major ancient river flow evidence. Wyoming has some extreme historical geography, but as I mentioned earlier, is mostly unrecognized. Those who visit just Yellowstone/Teton miss some really incredible stuff elsewhere in WY.

Default Dangers on Wyoming Highways

We are nearing the end of our life list of seeing all U.S. national parks. We've been all over the nation, and I have a warning for all who drive through Wyoming. We have never seen so many erratic truck drivers in our entire lives. It was the most dangerous road trip we have ever taken. The truckers were all over the road and we saw this on all the WY highways we traveled. Not sure why so many "affected" truckers are here or why the highway patrol turns a blind eye, except I think the state may derive significant dollars from truck taxes and they don't want to divert or upset that revenue flow. All I can say is you take your life in your hands when you drive in Wyoming. Be careful, keep a safe distance, and when you can, put the drunks and pot heads behind you.
