Here is the link to an article I read today in the Billings Gazette. It tells a lot about the people of Wyoming. I've always thought that people here are a pretty positive, happy bunch. Much more than what I experienced living in Montana. Here ya go....enjoy!

BillingsGazette.com :: Survey: Wyomingites appear to be optimistic lot (http://billingsgazette.net/articles/2009/06/09/news/wyoming/24-wyomingites.txt - broken link)

Very interesting article, Thanks for sharing.

I think people have to be optimistic and have a positive outlook to live in WY. Wyoming can make or break you. If you come here with a positive outlook you can almost assuredly make it, if you come here with a negative outlook and a pesimstic view of things it will break you. People of WY are flexible and can adapt to just about anything except for changes to their open spaces. That is one aspect that those of WY don't want to see changed. The open spaces seem to be a life force and a way to get out and clear your minds and rethink on things. If we lost our open spaces, we would be lost altogether and become another state of pesimistic and negative people.

Having grown up in Wyoming, and lived lots of other places since leaving there around 1971, one of the differences I have noticed about Wyoming people is their self reliance. While Wyoming people are willing to help a neighbor if they need it, they are also more prepared and capable of taking care of all of their own needs. I think this self reliance breeds a positive sense of independence and self confidence, knowing that ones well being is in good hands, their own. I think this results in people who are happier and more more positive and confident about their future.
