We are looking for a high paying job in the medical field and a quiet town to call home. Where would that be in Wyoming? A 1hr drive to work is ok. Lake side community is ok. Good schools and low-low crime

Thanks

Let's see. How about a job?

This is a blue collar state where roughnecks make more then Doctors. Roustabouts make more then nurses. Drivers at the coal mine make more then lawyers. Well, almost.

We just have very many lakes or in particular, places for sale next to lakes.

Keyhole Reservoir comes to mind. Glendo Reservoir. Keyhole would put you a mile from Gillette, Glendo would put you in the middle of nowhere.

WyoMama, what ya got over by Cody? Anything?

"High paying" meaning what? Big city pay for doctors? Don't think you're going to find that anywhere in the rural or small-town west.

There are plenty of small, charming rural towns in the west that have third-world doctors here on visas through a USDA program to augment health care in the rural US. Saw that in rural Nevada.

Why third world doctors?

Because US doctors turn up their noses at making $50K/year.

Anywhere near Gillette would probably be good. We lived by Keyhole and friend was recruited by Gillette Hospital to run dialysis unit when she was in Lincoln, Nebraska. Schools are small and real rural. Still in trees versus prairie. Cost to drive?

Kind of my thought. We in Wyoming are kind of slow, dimwhitted, but sly and cunning like a fox. hahaha We bare watching!

But we are serious folks, we live in a beautiful area, we have folks next door and when an outsider inquires, it great if they are serious. We welcome new neighbors. But we don't put up with some. We'll be glad to tell you, or show you.

You won't make NEAR what you do in univ. settings or larger cities & you will take a lot of call. We don't have residents doing the grunt. My background is medical & has all been in Wyo & I've heard the best & worst of the docs bich & moan about the long hours & low pay but life is a trade-off & that is their choice. Cody is in dire need of internists & we have Buffalo Bill Res. Contact St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, MT - is an outreach clinic they are trying to get staffed back to where it was. 2 of the 3 docs there became hospitalists here.
