Sure...? Not a whole lot to do in Cody. Kind of a gateway town to yellowstone. It'll be plenty busy with through traffic in August. Assume thats what you're doing? Theres a cool little ghost town/historic village...

Plenty to do there.

The museum
Take the trolley around town
The dam
Horseback ride in the Shoshone Mts
Catch a rodeo
Go to 1 of the shows that serves dinner. Great, wholesome entertainment
Head out to Heart Mountain. Visit the internment camp. Take the time to read many of the exhibits
Take a drive on the Beartooth Highway
Order the elk medallions
Visit the park

The Bighorns were fantastic when we visited in June. What a fantastic place.

Cody is a very neat town to visit on vacation. Definitely do the Buffalo Bill Center for the West Museum. It is huge, and very informative/interesting.

I also suggest you check out the Heart Mountain Internment camp.

If they have any rodeos going on, which they should in August I would think, that is something exciting you should do as well.

That's a nice for a weekend trip.
A second on Thermop for fishing on the Wind, taking deep soak or watching the bison & burros.
Most serious hikers take to the 'Horns or the 'Tooth for more than a couple of days.
And of course all the trails in Yellowstone will keep you occupied longer.

Is the air museum in Greybull still there? That was interesting. Highly recommended if you're an aviation buff.
