This is about 30 miles west of Casper looking west northwest. The evening was worth stopping my truck and taking a few photos. This is a 7 photo panorama.

Sidenote: I've noticed that some of my photo links have become "broken" in the various threads here, showing Flickr's notorious "This image or video is unavailable" logo. I use Lightroom to publish my photo's to Flickr and other services, and when it sees that anything changes (like metadata) in the original file, it wants to re-publish the photo. When that happens, Flickr ends up rewriting the file on their end, and the result is a broken link. Not that anyone will go to the trouble of going back pages and pages to check it out, but I'm letting people know that if they see that Flickr logo and click on it, the link will go directly to the correct image. As of yet I've found no way to correct this--and the original threads are not editable after a certain amount of time.

Absolutely beautiful pictures. I'm glad you stopped and took them. Thanks for explaining the broken link. A lot of folks don't understand that.

A while back I had a user that used Photobucket (much like flicker) and one day he wrote me a scathing DM wanting to know why I've removed a bunch of his photos. I went back and looked and then asked him, "Have you reorganized your photo's within photobucket? He said, "Yes, I put them all in their proper folders, but that shouldn't make any difference, they're still coming from Photobucket." It sure does make a difference. If you do anything to a photo, it' breaks the link and generates a new one and when that happens, City Data looses the link and the photo goes away. Not a lot we can do, it's going to happen.

Thanks again!

That is a jaw dropping photo! I love it! Makes you appreciate how breathtaking our world can be if we take the time like Cloudfish did who snapped this gorgeous shot.

OMG these pictures are absolutely breathtaking. Does anyone have any of Casper? I've been looking online and found a few but not a lot.
Thanks!

Taken from the yard of the house about four miles outside of Cody yesterday. The mountains had been obscured by smoke all day but finally made their reappearance around 7pm. It was still smoky when I took these pictures, but it was beginning to clear out.

Yes it was quite smokey here. Was even making my allergies act up.
Was nice to have a break from it yesterday, with the cooler weather and a nice breeze to blow it away.
Those your horses?
We live off of Belfry Hwy just outside of town.

Not ours unfortunately. Belong to the neighbors. We live off the Greybull Highway, and yes........nice for it to cool down yesterday and today (spent yesterday splitting and stacking wood).
