Its been said that Big Piney is the "Icebox of the Nation." During my travels around this great state in the winter, I have found a wide variety of temperatures. The coldest that I found last year was minus 36 degrees below zero one morning in Rawlins.

I like to read about the weather, and I know that many of the posted temperatures throughout the state are stated incorrectly. For example, I live near Mountain View, the low this morning showed 19 degrees. However, at my house, it was actually 10 degrees. The other day, the weather station said it was 13 degrees, and it was minus 5 at my house.

For this new thread, I would like to see what the weather is like where you live, each day. Temperature, wind, cloudy/sunny? People often ask in these threads, what is the weather like in Wyoming? Maybe this will help answer some of those questions.

Right now, near Mountain View its 27 degrees and partly sunny, 5 MPH winds... Beautiful!

Here in Cody, it's 37, sunny and 7 mph winds - so pretty much your slightly warmer win!

I can remember winter days up on the South Fork when it would be 40 degrees with 50 MPH winds, and in town by Cooper Lane, it would be 5 degrees with no winds. Cody area has a wide variety of weather!

It's funny this thread got started. Over the weekend I installed an Ambient WS-2080 next to my cabin. It's cordless and gives me a complete readout on my computer. I have a console that is supposed to be good up to 330 ft. It works fine in my cabin and has a USB cable to hook to the computer.

So, a neighbor wanted me to try it in their house. I did, worked fine. They want a console to read off of my weather station. Another neighbor wanted me to try theirs and another. I ended up ordering 3 more consoles. They are only $40 each and they'll have weather data from the post that is at the corner of all of our properties. Talk about local weather. Also, it has a rain gage that I don't have to empty. It does it itself.

Right now it's 15 degrees with no wind. Here's a couple pictures of what I installed. By the way, it was less then $150.

The weather station:

Weather guessers are calling for a high of 66 today, but I don't think it's going to make it. Right now, at 1pm, it's

45 degrees
23% humidity
8mph wind

No snow predicted until Saturday and then only a slight chance.
